New for 2024!
We realise not everyone wants to undertake a multi-day journey across the south coast of Mull to have a meaningful pilgrimage experience.
This year we are offering two options for a day-long guided pilgrimage walk:
Pack pony picnic and pilgrimage
A circular route of about 6 miles/10km along fairly flat terrain and on a track or road for the duration. Beginning and ending at St. Ernan's by the loch. Freya the pack pony will carry our picnic lunch and we will saunter at her steady pace along smooth paths and rugged tracks. We will take time to notice the beauty and detail around us and pause with Freya to observe our surroundings. Weather permitting, we will enjoy beautiful views of Iona, including the Abbey, towards our journey's end. Picnic lunch provided.
Sacred south coast
A circular route of around 5.5miles/ 8.8km. This takes in the ruins of Kilvickeon Church, the clearance village of Shiaba, beautiful beaches and a site of ancient Christian worship. We will pause for reflection at each stage of the journey. The terrain is rough under foot with some tracks to follow. There are a few steeper sections so a moderate degree of fitness is required. Participants provide their own packed lunch and snacks.
Prices are based on group sizes and available on request.
